FAQ

  • How much does college counseling cost?

At Calibur Admissions, we offer one-on-one college counseling at $110 per session, with no large upfront packages required. You only pay for what you need. We also offer unlimited support plans for families seeking comprehensive guidance throughout senior year.

  • When should my student start college counseling?

We recommend starting as early as 9th or 10th grade to build a strong academic and extracurricular foundation. However, many students begin in junior or senior year, especially when it’s time to finalize college lists, write essays, and submit applications. It’s never too late—or too early—to start.

  • How often do we need to meet?

Most families choose to meet once a month during the early stages of high school and more frequently—every 1–2 weeks—during the fall of senior year when applications are due. Our flexible, pay-as-you-go model lets you schedule sessions based on your timeline.

  • Can you help with Financial Aid and Scholarships?

Yes. We help families understand FAFSA, CSS Profile, and other financial aid forms, as well as research and organize scholarship applications and deadlines. We also offer a Senior/Parent Budget Planning Meeting to help you prepare financially for college.

  • What does a College Counselor do?

A college admissions counselor helps students navigate the college application process with personalized support. This can include building a balanced college list, reviewing application essays, understanding admissions requirements, preparing for interviews, and managing deadlines—all to reduce stress and increase success.

  • Do you offer SAT or ACT test prep?

While Calibur Admissions does not offer in-house test prep, we partner with a trusted test prep company to provide high-quality SAT and ACT preparation at a discounted rate for our families. We also offer diagnostic testing to help determine your student’s baseline scores, track progress, and build a smart testing timeline.
